Confusion surrounds Cheeky Girl couple

Lembit Opik and his Cheeky Girl fiancee are either on the rocks or preparing to start a family, depending on who you believe.

Two very different reports over the Liberal Democrat MP and Gabriela Irimia's relationship surfaced in the Sunday tabloid press.

According to the News of the World Gabriela, 18 years younger than her fiance at 25, is refusing to talk to Lembit after their latest falling out.

"Gabby is very stressed and just wants to be on her own," a source told the paper.

"She is very unhappy and has been crying a lot. It's just got too much lately."

But a report in the Sunday People says Romanian singer Gabriela, who had a 2002 hit with twin sister Monica, was bracing herself for motherhood in three years time.

"Gabriela is the love of my life," the tabloid quoted Welsh Liberal Democrat leader Lembit as saying. "I've never met anyone like her or felt so sure about a relationship."

Lembit and Gabriela met in 2006 during the filming of a TV programme for Five.

After three months he proposed to her, having already ended his engagement to weather presenter Sian Lloyd.
