Police appeal for information after samurai sword robberies

Detectives in Greater Manchester are treating several threatening incidents that all included samurai sword-wielding robbers as linked.
In t he early hours of this morning, three pub robberies involving men with samurai swords took place in Salford.
The Hope pub on Eccles Old Road, the Vulcan Inn on Worsley Road North and Liverpool Road's Old Nags Head were all targeted.
As well as swords, machetes were also branded at the second incident and hammers in the third.
Greater Manchester Police and the Salford Robbery Unit are eager to speak to anyone who has information on any of the incidents.
An 18-year-old man from Irlam has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is being questioned by police.
It is understood that nobody was seriously injured in the robberies that all took place between 01:00 BST and 01:30 BST.
