Protestors gather at Manchester Airport
08/10/2007
A climate change protest is blocking the domestic departures entrance at Manchester Airport.
Greater Manchester Police are dealing with the protest taking place in Terminal 3, which is mainly used by British Airways.
The protestors, from campaign group Plane Stupid, have linked arms to prevent passengers passing through security for the departure lounge.
A spokesman for Manchester Airport said the protestors had not caused any flight delays.
"They seem to be blockading the entry to the security through into the departure lounge," he said.
"At the moment passengers cannot get through to security, but we do have alternative ways of getting passengers through."
In August, airport operator BAA won a high court ruling that banned Plane Stupid from taking action at Heathrow.
