Relive the Manchester Jazz Festival

03/08/2006

Manchester's Jazz Festival ended last week, but those who enjoyed the eight-day long musical extravaganza can remind themselves of the performances via a number of podcasts.

Including insights into why and how the musicians perform, the podcasts help to convey the atmosphere of the city's 11th festival.

Additionally, there are live podcasts from the event itself, enabling those who missed the performances of the biggest names in UK jazz to get a taste of the festival.

Individual podcasts feature festival participants such as Kirsty and Lara from Brooja, Suzanne Higgins of Honk, Mike Hall, Neil Yates and Richard Iles.

One of the podcasts also contains highlights of the festival preview, which took place at the Lowry, Salford Quays.

Nearly 50 bands took part in this year's musical spectacular at nine venues across the city.

Many of the events were free to the public, including performances in St Ann's Square and Albert Square by the Town Hall.

Podcasts can be found at www.manchesterjazz.com.
