Stockport regeneration plans go on show
17/10/2007
The public has been given the opportunity to scrutinise a new development in Stockport that will result in 2,000 jobs.
A 3D exhibition of the plans for the £500 million Bridgefield scheme, which aims to transform the centre of Stockport, has opened on Brown Street until November 10th.
The development is expected to include 650,000 sq ft and 80,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space respectively, car parking, a multi-screen cinema and 250 residential apartments.
Development firm Lend Lease and Stockport Council are inviting residents and businesses to attend the Future Bridgefield Exhibition Suite to offer feedback on the proposals.
Lend Lease development director Keith Redshaw said: "It's crucial with a scheme of this size and scope that local people get a chance to view the emerging plans and voice their opinions.
"The feedback we receive will be invaluable and will help to shape the final plans as we share our vision for the future of Stockport with as many people as possible."
In related news, HBG Properties has been given the green light to erect a 49,000 sq ft office building in Stockport's St Peter's Square.
