Noel: Manchester gave me my best hits
23/03/2006
Legendary Mancunian Noel Gallagher has claimed he wouldn't mind moving back to his hometown claiming he wrote some of his best songs here.
Speaking to Manchester's new indie/rock radio station Xfm, the Oasis star claimed he hasn't yet ruled out a return to northern living, despite moving to the capital years ago.
He admitted that, now his daughter has grown up, he wouldn't rule out moving back to Manchester as the city inspired some of his best tunes.
Meanwhile, fellow Mancunian Morrissey is returning to the city in April and May to perform a set of gigs as part of his UK tour.
The former Smiths frontman has recently turned down a £2.8 million offer to reform with his old band for a music festival in the US.
The Manchester-based Smiths split in 1987 after enjoying five years of back-to-back hits in the UK and US.
Rumours were abound of a reunion after two other former members, guitarist Johnny Marr and bassist Andy Rourke performed together in Manchester for a charity event this January.
