Topman launch boosts local bands
28/03/2006
Manchester's Arndale shopping centre is due to open its new extension in April, with Topman's flagship store launching a new campaign for local rock 'n' roll bands.
Teaming up with the newly unleashed Xfm Manchester radio station, the clothes store is running its Access All April campaign whereby unsigned local bands can perform at the big opening.
Throughout the month unsigned bands will be able to play at gigs hosted by Xfm DJ Clint Boon, with the band of the month playing at the flagship Topman store's grand opening.
Jason Griffiths, head of marketing at Topman, told Brand Republic: "The association between Xfm and Topman was the perfect choice as it reinforces our continued strategy of linking music and fashion by working with credible partners.
"The launch of Xfm Manchester also coincides perfectly with the launch of our new flagship store in the newly extended Manchester Arndale, which opens in early April."
Indie radio station Xfm Manchester took to the airways in March, with the aim of reconnecting its listeners with the local Manchester music scene.
