I took an important client to Gaucho and we had an excellent meal. The service was impeccable and we were impressed by the wine list and the steak.
Excellent by Will (rated 9/10)
The food and the wine are excellent, and the interior is very impressive.
Attention to detail by George (rated 10/10)
The best thing about Gaucho is the attention to detail with the waitresses bringing you cuts of beef on the board and talking you through each one and wine from their own vineyard. Nowhere else in town puts in this much effort and that's why they deserved to win
Food and drink festival by Eric Shade (rated 1/10)
Best Restaurant 2008? With all the great independent restaurants around manchester, it's appauling that a London chain is apparently the best we can do.
WELL DONE by Anon (rated 10/10)

Rare treat by Ellie Sanderson (rated 10/10)
Gaucho's is an absolutely fantastic restaurant. There is so much to recommend it I don't even know where to start - their privately-commissioned vineyards, perhaps? The service (including our poor waitress wandering from table to table with a slab of raw meat so illustrate each cut of steak)? The interior, which comes in somewhere between ostentatious and cool?
Nah, forget all that. It's all about the steak. If anyone can find me a better steak in Manchester, I'll eat my hat.
The best steak in Manchester - Probably by peter rodgers (rated 8/10)
As a big fan of Steak I am constantly on the look-out for the perfect cut and a chef that treats a rib-eye with the respect it deserves. The Gaucho Grill comes about the closest in Manchester to fulfilling these exacting requirements. This publicly listed chain also has restaurants in London and Amsterdam and specialises in Argentinian reared Aberdeen Angus stock which is vacuum sealed on slaughter and aged for up to 30 days longer than beef traditionally reared and slaughtered in the UK. The result is a cut so tender and yet so full of taste that I defy you find a better steak in Manchester. The restaurant itself is a bit theatrical. The service is fine - neither too sloppy nor too over-attentive - and price reasonable for such a great meal. A great place to eat after a match at Old Trafford or before going out clubbing or even if you want to impress a date - so long as she's a meat-eater! And if you do happen to find a better cut of beef, something to beat The Gaucho Grill, then please tell the rest of us
